Guillermo Gallegos - Mexico

Year you started collecting: Around 2005

Shelving method (by genre, author, signed copies): My library is organized by topic. I particularly like History, Art, and Latin America (especially Mexico and Central America). My signed books are organized in two sections. Those related with Art are in that section of my library, while all the others are in the shelf I photographed. I only purchase signed copies of authors I like or topics I am interested in.

Total number of copies: 3300+

Total number of signed copies: 163

Favorite treasure (s): Difficult to select. I like my Nobel Prize winners section (Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Miguel Angel Asturias, Jose Saramago, Vaclav Havel, Jean Marie Le Clezio, OrhanPamuk, Gunther Grass, Octavio Paz), and my Art section (Damien Hirst, Fernando Botero, Francys Alys, Leonora Carrington, Oscar Niemeyer and several other Mexican and Central American artists).

Favorite part of having signed books: Meeting (and in some cases, almost chasing) the author or artist to get it signed. Most of my signed Art books have been signed by the artists in front of me, have dedications and a couple even drawings!
