ANDREW MOORE: DETROIT DISASSEMBLED conveys the aesthetic of a postindustrial decline which allows nature to blur the lines between wilderness and city. The entire photography process for creating this work involved many years. These images confirm the carnivorousness of our earth, as it steeps into and overruns the buildings of a city that once epitomized humankind’s supposed supremacy.

While Moore locates both dignity and tragedy in the city’s decline, windowless grand hotels, vast barren factory floors, offices carpeted in velvety moss raises the uneasy question of the future if extreme degradation continues unchecked.
